BIS CRS registration stands for BIS certification under Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). As per the guidelines of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. The manufacturers of electronic goods are required to acquire mandatory BIS registration for their products in India.
Under the guidelines of MeitY no individual can manufacture, store or sell, import, or distribute products. That does not follow the Indian Standard specified and don't bear the Standard Mark with a unique Registration Number obtained from the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS). Therefore, it is now obligatory for all manufacturers and sellers to obtain BIS registration.
