Individual sellers, hawkers, food trucks, and small home bakeries are deemed petty businesses because they often don’t have a turnover of more than 12 lakh rupees per annum. Such FBOs are required to have a basic FSSAI registration to operate.
FBOs such as manufacturing unit/ oil processing, milling units, resellers, cold storage facilities, or having a turnover of more than 12 Lakh rupee per annum up to 20cr rupees per annum. Businesses are expected to have an FSSAI state license to operate legally.
FBOs operating in central premises such as airports, seaports, railways, or heaving businesses in one state must have an FSSAI central license. Such businesses usually have a turnover of more than 20 crore rupees per annum.
Applying for FSSAI registration in Gurgaon is easier than it looks; recently, FSSAI has introduced an online application to smoothen the application process in four simple steps.
Submit an application with FSSAI on their online FSSAI web portal and fill out Form A (for basic registration) and Form B (for FSSAI state/central license), respectively, as per the nature of their FBO.
Must upload all supporting documents simultaneously on the FosCos web portal along with the fee; once the submission is done, it will generate an application reference number that can use to check the application's status using our FSSAI application status checker tool. Authorities will accept or reject the application within 7 working days once the form is submitted.
An inspection will be held at the premises before approval for FSSAI registration/license. Once authorities do the satisfactory inspection the Food safety officer will grant the approval for the issuance of FSSAI license
The FSSAI registration/license number will be issued by the authorities within 30 working days along with FSSAI logo and a 14-digit registration number.
As per the FSS guidelines the registration & license fee for FSSAI is classified into 3 classes.
Also, in addition burden of 18% goods and services tax on fssai fees and penalty has to be carry by the applicant.

Note : As per the new norm of FSSAI. The applicants are required to pay only Initial fee of ₹1000 + 18% GST on it for their FSSAI licenses. However once the application is processed and passed by the licensing authorities then the rest of the differential amount i,e respective license fee along with differential GST has to be paid by the applicant within 30 working days. If the applicant failed to pay the amount then approval will be auto rejected.
