LMPC Certificate is mandatory for the distribution, sales, and import of prepacked goods by the importer. These are goods that are packed when the packer is not present to maintain its predetermined quantity. LMPC Certificate full form is Legal Metrology Packaged Certificate. Within 90 days from starting of the import LMPC Certificate in Nagaland need to be taken. There are a certain exemptions to the LMPC Certificate any goods which are having weigh less than 10 grams/milliliters or less or agricultural products having a weight more than 50 kilograms

Before importing the pre-packaged items for distribution or sale, an LMPC Certificate is required. Applications need to be submitted 90 days after the start of import activities. The registering authority receives an application form and supporting documentation; following verification, the LMPC Certificate is issued within 20 days. If the requirements of the LMPC Certificate are not followed, imported products may be held, penalties may be assessed, and other legal repercussions may result.

On June 1, 2011, under Legal Metrology Act, 2009 to relate to standards for weights and measures, control trade and commerce in weights and measures and other goods sold or distributed by weight, measure, or number, and for matters related to or incidental thereto.
