For the pre-packed goods, every manufacturer, packer, and importer must obtain the LMPC Certificate. Within 20 days of receiving the application, the appropriate government department—which may be either the federal government or a state government—will give the LMPC Certificate. Penalties, fines, and other repercussions may result from failure to comply with the requirements of the LMPC Certificate.
