What is an LMPC Certificate for import? Or what is LMPC Registration?

LMPC Certificate is defined as the certificate Any individual engaged in the sale or distribution of packaged goods, including the import or export of consumer goods or food products, is required to get from the Metrology Department of Consumer Affairs.

Documents required for LMPC Registration or LMPC Certificate

  • GST Registration Certificate
  • Import-Export Code’s Detail.
  • Latest Passport size photograph (all Partners/all Directors/Proprietor).
  • Copy of the Residential Address proof of the partners/proprietors/directors like voter ID card, passport etc.
  • Partnership deed in respect of Partnership firms/Memorandum of Association of the Company.
  • NOC from owner, rent agreement/lease deed and Licence for Factory/ trade / manufacture / Lal Dora certificate from MCD/NDMC/DDA etc. If the MCD licence is not readily available to the applicant, an affidavit-based undertaking that the business location is not in a non-conforming area and/or is not likely to be sealed by the MCD or relocated must be submitted.
  • Copy of the sale deed/allotment letter, property tax receipt, or Proof of Legal title of the premises. For a company, a copy of a memorandum of articles needs to be attached

A declaration from the maker or importer must be on the product label. These necessary declarations, which are listed below, must be written on every package:

  • Name and address of the manufacturer and packer where packer and manufacturer are different.And Address and Name of the manufacturer.
  • Country of Origin of the Commodity
  • Generic or Common Name of commodity.
  • MRP of the products or Maximum Retail Price
  • Net weight or quantity of the product expressed as a standard unit measure, weight, or quantity
  • Email address, name, telephone no., and address, need to be mentioned of the person in case of complaint by the customer.
  • Commodity’s Country of Origin.
  • Details on the import, manufacture, or pre-packing year and month.
  • Net quantity of the product contained in the package in terms of standard unit measure or weight or in number
  • Detail of the year and month of pack or import or manufacture or pre-packed.
  • The person's name, phone number, address, and email address of the person must be stated, in case of complaint by the customer.
