This authorization is necessary for any local authority, village panchayat or agency who is engaged in processing, recycling, treating or disposing municipal solid waste especially in those places where the Municipal solid waste produced is over 5000 kgs in one day.
Some of the measures include realizing the need for authorization, the submission of relevant documents, filling of the Form I for submission to the SPCB or PCC, a review process and on completion of the process, the grant of the authorization.
To renew the authorization, operators are required to fill a renewal application form to the SPCB or PCC as an appropriate case may be. The renewal process makes sure that the facility maintains to the standards on environmental and operational standards set under the Solid Waste Management Rules of 2016.
