Industries Categorization as per Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board

The categorization processes have been primarily based on the scale of the industries and resources consumption, and pollution from the release of pollutants and effluents, as well as its anticipated influence on health, hasn't been thought of as the main factor. The purpose of classifying industries into Red, Orange, Green, and White was to determine the best locations for these businesses. Any industrial sector's Pollution Index, or PI, is a number between 0 to 100, and the higher the PI value, the greater the pollution from that sector.

The categories are as follows:

  • Red category: Industrial sector with pollution Index Scores of 60 or higher
  • Orange category: Industrial sector with pollution Index Scores of 41 to 59
  • Green category: Industrial sector with pollution Index Scores of 21 to 40
  • White category: Industrial sector with pollution Index Scores of 20 or lower
